MRS. AMEETA CHATTERJEE

Chairperson & Managing Trustee

She is the driving force behind Ekam’s vision and goals. She is a management graduate from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Her sabbatical from the corporate world in 2010 led her to initiate Ekam Foundation Mumbai to focus on the healthcare and education needs of the underprivileged children in India. She has straddled both banking and consulting roles in her 20-year corporate career between India and the UK. While working with one of the multinational advisory services network giants in London, she was seconded to the UK Department of Education and Schools to assist in project management of the government’s school building program. Her experience has helped Ekam Foundation Mumbai initiate and formulate its education support and health-awareness programmes with defined structural clarity and systematic project planning. She currently holds independent director board positions with some leading companies in India and is also an independent advisor for mid and small sized firms on strategy and financing solutions.

In her present role as Chairperson and Managing Trustee of Ekam Foundation Mumbai, she heads strategy and finance at the organization. She has helped the organization develop a focused fundraising strategy that allows it to keep its costs low and direct donations to the beneficiaries where it is needed the most. Her strong networking skills, backed by deeply-nurtured relationships, have aided the organization making impactful connections for institutional funding. She blends her passion for goodwill along with the rigor of management and strategy of the private sector in leading and directing the team.
